It has been awhile since we did an update in our “ blog”,
not since Christmas I think. So here
goes.
The Villages continues to meet our expectations and we have
no regrets about our move. The
activities are limitless. Naturally, we
enjoy the golf and the company of good friends.
We have taken up line dancing, but continue in the “beginner” group. We have established good medical contacts for
our critical needs.
Our small boat has proved very enjoyable as there are lots
of waterways nearby. Also, good
fishing. To get acquainted with the
fishing, we joined a fishing club and signed for a fresh water trip with an
expert Crappie guide. Wow! Did we have a great outing. Twenty-five Crappie in the 1-2 lb each
range. Biggest Crappie we have ever
seen. Guide said had we been in a
tournament we likely would have placed 2nd. Shari caught two in one pole set. Then we signed for a salt water flats trip.
Not so lucky. Five hours, no
fish. Oh well. Keep trying.

Visiting friends and family has been a treat. Friend Ron Tenpas came and spent a few
enjoyable days with us. Steve &
Andera Morton joined us for a day and we really had fun. Then we went to visit sister Janice and her
friend Karen over at seaside Stuart, Fl.
Enjoyed seeing their place and a nice lunch ocean side. Also had a chance to connect with sister
Kathy and Husband John in Kissimmee.
Janice & Karen joined us also.
Unfortunately, John wound up with a short stay in the hospital
shortening our visit.
Friends, Judy & Bill Hesser made us a deal we
couldn’t refuse. They have a condo in Aruba that they could
not use this year, so offered it to us to stay at our home in The Villages for a
week. We accepted and they arrived Feb
28th for a show and tell of the house and The Villages, and we
departed for Aruba on March 2. Aruba,
magnificent beaches and a lovely condo and pool facility. We took a full 7 hr
tour of the island to learn as much as possible. Otherwise, beach days and pool days. Lots of history with the island and a very
busy downtown. Sun and wind, never seems
to rain.

On a separate note Bob has been dealing with an irritating
medical issue that required minor surgery, completed March 18th. Now in recovery and doing well.
Our plans continue to include returning to Wisconsin in late
May.
