Week begin 12/14

Week Three 12/14-12/20

The Packer game was great! Beat the Bears! Enjoyed our visit with son Jeff. Today, leaving Carrollton, VA heading to Wilmington, NC. Visiting Faye Paterson, an acquaintance we made through our friend Ron Tenpas, and shared some fun times as couples. Took the scenic route along the coast, highway 13 / 17 south. Started out in fog, but quickly burned off and soon full sun, temp hitting 68. Had arranged a dinner date with Faye, happy hour at her house then on to dinner. Arrived around 6pm and she welcomed us with open arms.

Fayes house is beautiful in a very “upscale” gated community. She gave us a brief tour and introduced us to her special cat “Mr. Ritz”. We enjoyed cocktails and snacks, then on to a local bistro. Very nice, Bob Yellow Fin Tuna, Shari Flounder, both great. Hope to treat Faye when she visits Wisconsin.

Tuesday, leaving Wilmington heading towards Charleston / Savannah. Continued on hwy 17 south, stopping in Myrtle Beach for lunch and a beach walk. Would not recommend this route in prime season, but this time of year not too bad. Temps hitting 71, some people actually on the beach in swim suits. Good lunch on the main drag, pretty quiet, then on towards Charleston. Traffic in Charleston “Awful”. Found a Wal-Mart for a quick overnight. Called grandson Jeff Jr. in Savannah, with hopes of seeing him tomorrow. Mom Dawn responded that 6:30pm. Wed evening would work. Arranged to meet and excited to see grandson Jeff Jr.

Wed AM, Shari and I decided to go for a walk in Charleston. Weather great with temps around 70. Found a really nice Italian restaurant for an early lunch. Being seated, only two other people in the place, but by noon the place was full. Guess it was a good choice. Food was great. Left Charleston around 2PM en route for Savannah. Agreed to meet Dawn at a Wal-Mart / Home Depot right off exit 104 on I-95. She was right on time with Jeff Jr. and his step brothers and sisters, a group of seven, filled our coach in a hurry, but was really fun and nice to see a everyone.

Thursday AM departed Savannah en route for Orlando, Fl to connect with friends Richard and Jeanne Byrd. Haven’t seen them in a couple years. They spend the winter in an Encore park just outside of Disney World, and they enjoy working there part-time, getting lots of park “perks” along with their efforts. Invited them to our coach for happy hour and got caught up on time passed. Day started with sun and ended with rain. Forecast cool for the next couple days, so not sure how long we will stay here. About 29 accidents out on the highways this morning.

Friday, Richard & Jeanne busy so we did a little self guided road trip around the area. Saturday, they offered to take us to Disney World, and as workers they get free passes for guests. What a great treat! Spent time in Epcot and the Magic Kingdom parks. Caught the evening parade in front of the Castle and down the main drag in the Magic Kingdom and closed the day with awesome fireworks display in Epcot Center. A twelve hour day, but truly incredible! Lots of people here due to the Holiday weekend & kids off school, so the park was packed. Disney world is truly a “fantasy”. If you haven’t been, it is a must. Sorry, we forgot the camera, so no photos of Disney World.

Sunday, Richard & Jeanne continued to tour us, taking us to Disney’s Wild Kingdom Park. The park was packed with families and young children. We endured for a couple of hours, then moved on to lunch at a sports bar catching the first half of the Packer game. Then off to Disney World “Downtown”. A “mega” shopping park / mall. Lots of people in Magic Kingdom shopping. What more could a guy want. Yea!

A huge “thank-you” to Richard & Jeanne. Disney was awesome!

End of week three.

Week begin 12/7/09

Week Two 12/7-12/13

Left Mitz and Ryan on Monday 12/7 heading towards son Jeff in Carrollton, VA.  Enjoyed very much our visit with Mitz & Ryan, but school for Ryan and back to work for Mitz shortened our visit.  Ryan, good looking kid, will be eighteen in May.  Glad to hear he has several college applications out and hoping for results in January.  We wish him good luck.

Jeff not off till the weekend, so our journey will be slow and deliberant, as it is not that far.  Weather has been “OK” considering what our Wisconsin friends are going through.  Lots of rain, some mild flooding.  Temps in the 70’s, then sudden drop to the 40’s.  Settled in to Suffolk, VA, pronounced “Suf-Fix”, a very nice RV park called Davis Lakes.  Lots of year round RV’s, we looking like the only transits in the transit area.  Did some area sightseeing, lots of history here.  Toured a train museum.  Went to Smithfield, historic village nearby.  Beautiful historic homes.

Called Jeff an announced are arrival. Plan Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday with him then off south Monday.

Connected with Jeff Friday evening, caught up on conversation and ordered take out in. He has a beautiful condo in Carrollton.  Saturday picked up Jeff for a road trip to Virginia Beach.  Nice to have a local “tour guide”.  Weather a little “brisk’ for a beach trip, ie; 45 degr.  On the good side, no traffic or crowd issues.  Lots of Christmas decorations along the “Board Walk”.  Was nice to see the beach even out of season.

Sunday to Jeff’s for the Packer game.  Head south Monday AM.

Week begin 11/30/09

Week Begin 11/30/09

Left Oshkosh on Monday 11/30 around 8:30am.  Looked kind of like a carnival leaving town with our tow vehicle behind the coach, kayaks on top and bikes on the back.  Our goal was to make Effingham, Il around 410 miles, enough for the first day.  Pulled into a Wal-Mart for an overnight stay, arriving around 4:30pm.  No more than getting settled in, we look out the window and see our friends Skip & Marlene Zacher.  We knew they were leaving for Florida the same day as us, but surprised to see them next to us, they know we are Wal-Mart users.  Anyway, they were staying at a Roadway Inn just a few blocks from us.  So we decided to happy hour together and order sandwiches out for dinner.  When Skipped checked in, he asked the desk clerk if we could park our coach in their lot in as much as they were guests there, and she said no problem.  So we moved the coach and after dinner settled in.  Around 10:45pm a knock on the door and a group of ladies with “Santa hats” said we were on private property and would have to leave.  I shared we got permission from the desk clerk.  The leader said that management did not approve.  So I said it sounds like a Mgt / employee problem and closed the door.  At 11:00pm, another knock on the door, and we drew more attention then the couple crashing the White House State Dinner.  Three squad cars pointing at us and two officers at the door.  Said we had been asked  to leave the property and refused.  I shared the permission we were granted and our friends were guests at the motel.  The officer went to the office to verifying our story, and after confirming, called the manager still insisting that we leave. The officer felt really bad and was very polite and without further ado we returned to Wal-Mart for the night.  Wow, what a first night.  So much for doing things right and getting permission.

On Tuesday, an early start, we headed for Nashville, around 230 miles, wanting  to see the Christmas lights and decorations at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  Arrived at the Two Rivers RV Park on Music Valley Drive just a mile from the hotel.  Got settled in for a two day stay, deciding to stay in for the night.  Rain all night and forecast for tomorrow is more rain.

Wednesday we sought out a Martha Stewart recommended Café.  Loveless Café was great.  Carol Fay, the “Biscuit Lady”, appearing on the Martha Stewart show, greeted us and showed us
to our table.  Yes, the hot biscuits are great!  Secret recipe she says.  Shari ordered smoked pork chops and I went with their trademark fried chicken.  All was great, doggie bag to go.  Evening spent at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  Each time we visit we see

something new.  The Christmas Decorations are incredible.  Live Christmas Music entertainment in the Atrium.  Tomorrow we head for Asheville.

Thursday
was a late start for what we thought was a short trip to Asheville, NC, 227 miles prox.  Well, about 100 miles west of Asheville on I-40 we were told of a major rock slide that closed I-40, so had to detour 100 miles out of our way going north on Hwy  81 then back south on 26 to Asheville.  So two hours more driving and losing an hour in the time zone change, decided to pull over and spend the night just outside of Johnson City at a Wal-Mart.  Tired.

Friday, our trip from the Johnson City area, took us through the Appalachan Mountains en-route to Asheville and then on to the Graham / Burlington area to visit grandson Ryan.   Weather still cloudy and colder than normal, high today 48.  Scenery beautiful, but weather doesn’t do justice.  Arrived at Cane Creek Campground / RV Park around 4:30pm.  Very nice family farm run park situated in a beautiful rural valley.  Not many RV’s here this time of year, and we are located in a site with a beautiful view.  After settled in called Mitz, Ryans mom, and announced are arrival.  Both working tomorrow,  so a free day for us to explore.

Spent the day exploring Graham, went downtown for parade and activities, but rain and cold put a damper on the events.  Went into Burlington and found where Ryan works. Sunday went to Chapel Hill, Tar Hill country, walked the campus area and had lunch on the drag at the “Breadmens”.   Dinner with Ryan and Mitz at the Longhorn Steak House.  Great to be with Mitz and Ryan!

End of week 21, April 25, 2009

Week 21 begin April 19, 2009

Wow! What a week. Another adventure. Took a “Hot Air Balloon” ride out of Sedona. A perfect day, rising at 5:00am for a 5:40 pick up to the site for a 6:00am lift off. Perfectly blue sky with a soft breeze. Generally do early morning rides due to much more stable air. Once there, assisted a bit with filling the balloon, first with a large fan, then the “fire jets”. Green light to jump in the basket, then off we were. Absolutely amazing! Climbed to 6,900 ft (starting at 4,000) then dropped several times into canyons to tree height in hopes of viewing wild life. And we did! A herd of elk, mule deer, a coyote, and one group saw a pack of Javelina. It was awesome. Flew from Sedona towards Cottonwood, speed around 9 mph. Flew over one of John McCain’s Page Springs Corneville, AZ retreat home. This is where he and Palin planned their presidential run strategy we were told. Our concern of course was not lift off but rather “landing”. Well, it was a gentle lowering of altitude, (not any directional control except finding different wind troughs) communicating with the chasing vehicle, picking a good landing site, and then go for it. Well, these guys do this every day, so pretty routine, but winds can do funny things. When the basket hits the ground there is a forward thrust and tipping motion, sometimes actually tips over. But today, a couple of forward thrust bumps and then to a full stop, chaser catching up to help stabilize the basket. Once stable, green light to get out of basket. Crew drops balloon and begins the packing process. Bob helped a bit. Then we drove to a site meeting four other balloon teams for a “Champagne breakfast”. Fun! Got a certificate for the ride. Great Time!

Rest of the week, numerous hikes, golf, and a day in Jerome, a fun old mining town and now for tourists. Also took a nature hike in Red Rock State Park advertised as 1-1/2 hrs but our tour guide was a retired geology teacher and enjoyed our group so much that we were out 4 hrs, nobody really objected. Hiked us up to a state park mansion owned by former TWA executive Jack Fry, and through divorce passed to his ex-wife marrying a Vanderbilt. Interesting story of the 1947 era, at any rate, eventually donated to the state for the park, along with some 700 acres. Beautiful spot. Of Course Shari very much enjoyed all the desert flowers and narrative about all the other plant life.

Friday took a rode trip recommended by the visitors center. About a 20 mile round trip from dry creek through Boynton Pass. Gravel road but not too bad. Beautiful scenery. Stopped at a national ruins site, “Palatki”, observing 1,000AD dwellings and pictographs. Tour guides did a great job explaining. Evening went to Elks for Friday night fish, arriving learning tonight was steak night. Well, for ten bucks each, we got a very good NY strip steak, huge baked potato, sweet potato fries, salad, roll, desert, coffee. Not bad! Afterwards, we stopped at Sedona’s local micro brewery offering their famous “Oak Creek Beer”, discount coupon and free entertainment. Well, the entertainment was interesting. Outside patio had an open pit bonfire with all sorts of interesting characters. Live band playing inside. Understand, Sedona does have some “free spirited” locals, almost like “tree huggers”. Had a beer and enjoyed observing the locals rolling their own cigarettes, free massages, and interesting conversations. Toothless and Jesus looking characters.

There is so much to do and see in Sedona, after two weeks we only scratched the surface.

Overwhelming geology and scenery. We will have to return.

Saturday finalizing our plans to head for home. Looks like we will head through New Mexico towards Kansas City then up to Albert Lea, MN to home, current schedule back by April 30th.

See ya soon!

Week 20- end April 18, 2009

Week 20 – Begin Sunday April 12, 2009

Pulled out of Page Springs RV park around 10:00am, arriving at Sedona Pines around 11:00am. Registration advised site not ready, so parked rig and walked the park, found our site was in fact open, so back to registration and got approval to pull in. Very nice spot, actually the best in the resort. Water pond with a babbling brook in front of us and a great view of Sedona Mnts behind us. So much to do here in Sedona.

Weather turned cold for the week, snow in the mountains. So numerous sightseeing road trips. Found a favorite breakfast place recommended by our RV friends Mike & Mary Jo, “The Coffee Pot”, a must stop if visiting Sedona. Checked out jeep trips and balloon rides. Friday hiked the lower Red Rock Loop Trail, stopping for a sandwich lunch half way. Got taxes filed with an extension, not due to our travel but waiting on a Sch K-1.

Saturday we took a Jeep trip into the Oak Creek Canyon. Safari Jeep Tours. Our guide, nickname “Diggy”, was very entertaining. Academic background in geology and renewable resources, was very knowledgeable about the area geology, plant life, and history. Spectacular views of the red rocks along the Mogollon Rim, climbing some 2,000 feet along a narrow rough jeep trail. Beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. Trip was about two hours and well worth it. We have more pictures than you can imagine of Sedona, obviously one of the most photographed areas of the country. Everybody has “naming rights” to all the rock formations, including the famous “Snoopy” and side kick “Lucy”. Fun Trip!

Week nineteen 4/11/09

Week 19 – 4/5-4/11

Bob feeling better but still weak. Monday preparing to depart Casa Grande to Sedona, the last leg of our southwest winter trip. Left park early Tues AM heading towards Mesa, AZ, an appointment to install our tow bar and face plate on the Honda at Cliff’s Welding. Arrived at 8:30am, ready for us, but felt job may take 6 hrs to complete. Last thing to do was to tie the coach to the car with lights and the air brakes, so coach available to use, so after breakfast we went to “Superstition Mall”, huge! Two stories. Wasted a couple of hours. Back to Cliff’s and learned won’t be ready till 5PM, so they offered us to overnight there in the coach and check the systems out in the AM.

Checked out all systems early Wed 4/8, very happy with service and products. Great people to work with. Off about 9 AM, vehicle in tow, heading for the Sedona area, but first a 4 night stay at Page Springs RV Park in Cornville, AZ. A bit of a challenging driving, ie; new coach and tow, Phoenix traffic out of Mesa, then mountain country into Yavapai County. Our RV Park snakes to 3300 ft. with a bit of a challenging entrance. Detached car just outside park, drove in to check out and register. Got in under ROD, so no charge for four nights. Park situated right on “Oak Creek”, same creek out of Sedona’s Oak Creek Village. Very pretty setting right on the water, but the park is a little tight. Got a site with ample room, and neighbor moved car to ease my parking. Got in perfect first try, no dings. Yhea! Once settled, we headed into Cottonwood for a late lunch. Settled into the “Tavern Grille” in Old Town. Awesome burger and Italian Wedding soup. Last year we were there we were there with Shari’s cousin Tom and wife Charolette. Miss them this year. Walked Old Town after lunch. Back to RV to settle in for the evening in this beautiful setting.

Thurs & Friday 4/9 & 10 we spent time in Sedona. Checked out our RV park at the Sedona Pines Time Share. Very nice spot reserved for us. Then downtown Sedona walked the shopping area. Very busy considering the economy, but then it is Easter week break, so lots of families. Friday we decided to hike the Wilson Canyon, rated “easy”, 3 mile round trip. Parked near the Midgely Bridge ramada, day pass purchase required. The trail was great, following the canyon river bed to the top. At the top the view was great! A little more difficult hike, caution required for loose rock. Took us about 1 hour up. Spent 30min enjoying the view and a light snack. Hike back pretty easy, mostly down hill. Friday night and Saturday Rain, kind of a steady shower. Ok cause it is the first rain day of our entire trip. Badly needed here. Watched a movie in the coach while it rained, then into town for some light shopping.

Week ending 3/29/09

Spent a couple of hours with RV Coach people taking care of some minor issues with the coach. Had to go back to dealer for some work. Underway late on Wednesday the 25th and booked a night off the road in Ehrenberg, AZ at the Western Horizon resort Colorado River. Then on Thursday the 26th, headed for Casa Grande, AZ. The day looked fine, but winds continued to build and by noon we had gusts of 30-40 mph. Decided to avoid Phoenix and took hwy 85 south off hwy10 to hwy 8 into Casa Grande. Shari following behind the coach in the car as we have yet to have the tow bar installed , scheduled for 4/7.

Well, things happened in a hurry. Driving at 60mph +, Shari hit a 50-60mph wind gust tearing the kayaks and rack right off the roof of the car. Scary!! I lost her in my rear view mirror, but not to concerned as she would call me if trouble. Well, she had no cell coverage. A passer by helped pull the kayaks off the hwy and loaned a cell phone with local coverage to call me. By then I was 20 miles down the road. Turned around and headed back Arriving at the scene, hugged Shari for concern and observed the situation. Another citizen to our rescue, a law enforcement gal, already had loaded the kayaks in the back of her small pick up. Kayaks still fully attached to the rack, so the whole rack let loose. Trashed the rack, some roof damage to Shari’s new car, kayaks survived with out too much damage. Thank god no one hurt! Well, now what to do, two kayaks, no rack, and in the middle of “no where”. Well, the gal that came to our assistance offered to drive the kayaks in her pick up to “Cabelas” (a major sporting store) in Glendale, about 30 miles away, thinking we might be able to repair or replace the rack. We took her up on the offer. She called a friend to join us, we tied the kayaks securely, and off we went, still in heavy winds. Arrived at Cabelas, contacting the store manager and sending our helpers on their way, refusing to accept any payment, but managed to force $60 in their pocket.

Working with Cabelas proved to have no easy fix for a car rack option, and quite frankly, after the event, we were not excited about putting them back on the car roof, so with two kayaks laying in the parking lot, we decided to ship them home. Arranged for Conway freight and $500 later they were on their way. WOW! What a day. Cabela manager allowed us to stay overnight in the back of their lot. Relief that we found a solution, no one got hurt, and minor damage to the car can be fixed, we did get a good nights sleep.

Up early Friday AM the 27th to head to Casa Grande. Hit major morning traffic going east on hwy 10 right into Phoenix. Traffic crawled and Bob driving a new coach for the first time in major traffic. About an hour and ½ later traffic freed and we were well under way. Arrived at our RV resort around 10:00am and got situated relatively close to our friends Bill & Jody, feeling good to be settled once again. What a couple of days!

Saturday & Sunday spent the days getting acquainted with the workings of the coach. Lots of systems to learn. Automatic leveling, Air bags, GPS navigation, Sirius Satellite Radio, DC Inverter system, Washer Dryer, Home entertainment system, Sanitary system, and the list goes on.

Week 15-16 end March 28

Week 15 beginning 3/8/09

Caught up with Tony & Dick and found Charlie & Clari in the afternoon on Monday. Joined them for a RV tour presentation to the Maritimes Canada’s Best Secret. Charlie & Clari then invited us to join them tomorrow, Tuesday for the International BNP Tennis Tournament. A new experience for us as we have never been to a live pro tennis match. These grounds located in Indian Wells and I believe considered the 2nd largest in the world. Over 40 courts in a very beautifully landscaped complex. Today was free admission as they are in qualification rounds. Players from all over the world, an open event, but based on the talent level it’s believed to be all pros, some armatures may try but likely won’t make it. Also some pre-qualification is required.

We started by visiting some practice courts then on to stadium match play. Tournament is both men & women. Some really awesome matches, but didn’t have a clue who most of the players were or their ranking. Players surrounded by large crowds obviously notables. Still a great experience. Beautiful sunny day and wind subsided. Nice crowds at the even, but manageable to move around with ease.

Thursday morning Shari and I got introduced to “Pickle Ball”. Lessons offered by the RV park. For those not familiar, it is sort of like “miniature tennis”. Played on a smaller sized tennis court with a little lower net, a “paddle” type racquet, and a ball that is much like an oversized “whiffle ball”. Rules and scoring slightly different. Fun game, particularly for us “seniors”.

Rest of the week pretty much stayed around the park. Nice steak dinner in the club house. Played a little “Hand & Foot” with Charlie & Clari. A few road trips into the Palm Springs area. Looked into a tour of the “wind turbine” farms, numerous out here. Proclaimed one of the best tours in the country. Maybe next week.

End of week 16, March 21, 2009

Week 17 (March 22-28) proved to be pretty hectic. We cut a deal on a new RV, a class A Motor Home, trading in our 5th wheel and truck. The RV market out here is “nuts” and it was a deal we could not refuse. A brand new 2009- 38’ Holiday Rambler Endeavor taken in on a bank repossession from a dealer. They wanted to get out of it bad, we made an offer and they accepted. The deal was facilitated thru a dealer, but no commission, just a fee between the bank and the dealer for closing the deal. As the result, we had to purchase a “tow” vehicle for behind the coach and settled on a new Honda CR-V, noted in the industry as one of the top tow vehicles for all four wheels down. So suffice to say our whole week was learning “our new equipment”. Spent A couple of nights in the dealer lot cross loading our “stuff”, way to much accumulated over 6 years with our old rig. A little overwhelming. Then back to Desert Pools RV park for a couple of more days, and then on to Casa Grande, AZ.

Week 14 ending March 7, 2009

Had a full week. Played golf at the Indio Municipal Golf course with a park tag along. Sunday joined Mike and Mary to the Desert Palms “Street Fair”. A really nice and very large flea market with lots of good stuff. Hybrid clubs almost a give a way. Monday we joined a park group on a 3-1/2 hour hike in the Pushwala Canyon, some steep climbs along the ridge then loops back through a wash. The turnaround point had an incredible oasis of palm tress right in the middle of the desert, quite a sight.

Tuesday another golf day at the Indian Palms Country club, but open to the public, and our park got a special group rate on a really great course. Teamed with Mike & Mary again and had a great day. Mexican dinner at the club house, Chicken Fajitas with all the makings, after a nice dip in the pool. Very good! Weather still great, sunny with temps high in the mid 80’s. Nice! Been doing aerobic exercise classes every morning at 8am for 45 minutes. A good morning wake up.

Wednesday was a “maintenance day”, Shari laundry and Bob housekeeping. Evening joined Mike and Mary to the “Fabulous Palm Springs Follies” staring Susan Anton. Multi-talented show with lots of singing, dancing, comedy, and special acts. A three hour show highlighting the old “Route 66” theme. Marvelous colorful costumes. Theme directed to the senior audience, da, and the performers seniors as well, the oldest 85yrs old, but can out dance and sing any of us. Was a fun evening in downtown Palm Springs, starting with dinner at the Las Casuelas Terraza Mexican Resturant followed by the Follies. Very Good!

Thursday, 3/5, a very interesting day. Mike & Mary being “Jeepsters” had wanted to take us Jeeping, but already had friends joining them, so needed another Jeep with an empty back seat. Apparently “Jeepsters” team up easily for mountain adventure trips. Anyway, after searching the RV park w/o success, they came across a jeep in the Costco parking lot and approached the strangers for Jeep trip in the Borrengo Springs area and the Anza –Borrengo State Park. Turns out they live in an RV park in that area and embraced the idea. Well, low & behold total strangers hook up for a Jeep trip and be are invited to join them. This all took place on Wednesday for a Thursday outing.

Well about noon we head to Borrengo Springs, hook up with Mike & Marys friends, Dick & Leanne, and then call to meet the new “Costco” friends Tom & Joan. Got directions to their place, and off we go. Very nice RV park in a beautiful golf course and mountain view setting. Very nice people and welcomed us with open arms. RV’ers are incredible people. After some conversation over Jeep trail maps, a route was decided and off we went. A moderate trail with desert flowers in bloom, a couple of interesting water crossings, and a large steep rock hill that we opted out of for this trip, but hiked to the crest. Great people and great fun! Back to Borrengo Springs for super at a local coffee shop. Exchanged cards with Tom & Joan.

Friday, Shari and I did some Palm Springs road trip stuff, and stopped for lunch at a favorite spot from last year, “Don and Sweet Sues” for a great lunch. Then back to the RV park to treat Mike & Mary to a fish fry from our catch in Kino Bay. Fun! They are leaving tomorrow, so a good time to say our “good byes”. We will miss them as it has been a great week. Saturday morning we greeted them farewell as they pulled out. PM Shari and I hiked the 1,000 palms trail for about 1-1/2 hours. Straddled the Saint Andreas Fault. Back to RV to prepare for our departure Sunday Am. What a Great Two Weeks!

Sunday required a check out by 11:00am from Indian Waters, requested an extra night so we could get our new tire put on the fifth wheel, dealer not open Sunday, so arranged for early Monday AM stop. Indian Waters could not accommodate an extra night, so we opted to stay at the Fantasy Springs Casino parking lot. Had a late lunch in the casino, played some slots and lost, so back to the RV for Chicken dinner in.

Monday early stop for our tire change (7:00am), then on to Desert Pools RV resort in Desert Hot Springs for a two week stay. Arrived around 10am, settled in checking for friends, Tony & Dick and Charlie & Clari. Didn’t find them, but sure there here somewhere. Very windy day.

End of week 14
