Left Mitz and Ryan on Monday 12/7 heading towards son Jeff in Carrollton, VA. Enjoyed very much our visit with Mitz & Ryan, but school for Ryan and back to work for Mitz shortened our visit. Ryan, good looking kid, will be eighteen in May. Glad to hear he has several college applications out and hoping for results in January. We wish him good luck.
Jeff not off till the weekend, so our journey will be slow and deliberant, as it is not that far. Weather has been “OK” considering what our Wisconsin friends are going through. Lots of rain, some mild flooding. Temps in the 70’s, then sudden drop to the 40’s. Settled in to Suffolk, VA, pronounced “Suf-Fix”, a very nice RV park called DavisLakes. Lots of year round RV’s, we looking like the only transits in the transit area. Did some area sightseeing, lots of history here. Toured a train museum. Went to Smithfield, historic village nearby. Beautiful historic homes.
Called Jeff an announced are arrival. Plan Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday with him then off south Monday.
Connected with Jeff Friday evening, caught up on conversation and ordered take out in. He has a beautiful condo in Carrollton. Saturday picked up Jeff for a road trip to Virginia Beach. Nice to have a local “tour guide”. Weather a little “brisk’ for a beach trip, ie; 45 degr. On the good side, no traffic or crowd issues. Lots of Christmas decorations along the “Board Walk”. Was nice to see the beach even out of season.
Sunday to Jeff’s for the Packer game. Head south Monday AM.
